Top 10: Torture Porn Horror Movies

top-10-torture-porn-horror-movies-main

Torture porn, gorn, splatter horror movies; whatever you call it, it always means the same – extreme violence, graphic torture scenes and sometimes a lot of nudity.

Torture porn is my favourite type of horror movies and I like to believe that it comes from Hellraiser where the road to pleasure is through pain! The aim is to make the deaths as realistic as possible and to make people think they’re witnessing a snuff film.

Unfortunately the latest splatter films are made for young people who don’t appreciate horror films as much as me and the movies are full of dumb teens who think only about partying, drinking and having sex. Then they die. Some of them have impressive deaths but overall they’re pretty much crap.

To defend the gorn movies and show you that they’re not made only as money machines, here I present top ten of torture horror films that you may enjoy (or not!).

10. Hostel (2005)

Director: Eli Roth
Writer:Eli Roth
Cast: Jay Hernandez, Derek Richardson, Eyhor Gudohnsson

The only reason why Hostel made the list is that some people actually like this franchise. I was not impressed by any of the Hostel movies but it’s still a good watch if you’re a gore n00b.

9. Meat Grinder (Cheuuat gaawn chim) (2009)

Director: Tiwa Moeithaisong
Writer: Tiwa Moeithaisong
Cast: Mai Charoenpura, Anuway Niwartwong, Wiradit Srimalai

Meat Grinder is definitely a hard watch and I hope no one will secretly follow the movie and do it in real life! Cannibal movie with a lot of creative deaths. The reason why it’s not higher on the list is because some killings didn’t look right. Sometimes the blood looked like thick ketchup.

8. Imprint (Masters of Horror episode 13, season 1) (2006)

Director: Takashi Miike
Writer: Mick Garris, Daisuke Tengan
Cast: Billy Drago, Shiho Harumi, Michie

This Masters of Horror episode is so fucked up I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry watching it. It touches some of the disturbing social issues and provides unforgettable scenes of torture.

7. The Collector (2009)

Director: Marcus Dunstan
Writer: Patrick Melton, Marcus Dunstan
Cast: Josh Stewart, Andrea Roth and Juan Fernandez

The Collector is one of the most interesting, gripping movies of last years. You will be even happier if I tell you that the sequel is on the way!

6. I spit on Your Grave (2010)

Director: Steven R. Monroe
Writer:Meir Zarchi, Stuart Morse
Cast: Sarah Butler, Jeff Branson, Andrew Howard

I will not argue if this movie is better than the original I Spit on Your Grave (1978) but it’s still a great, gory watch. Amazing what a woman can do when you disrespect her and piss her off. A must see for all revenge and torture fans.

5. Martyrs (2008)

Director: Pascal Laugier
Writer: Pascal Laugier
Cast: Morjana Alaoui, Mylene Jampanoi, Catherine Begin

If I could, I would list all the new wave French horrors in here as well. Instead I am limiting myself to Martyrs and if you don’t know why it’s one of the most controversial horror films then what are you waiting for? Watch it!
You can find ‘Martyrs’ in Top 10 French horror list

4. Guinea Pig films (Gini Piggu) (1980s)

Director: Satoru Ogura

If you have to prove that none of the actors died shooting your movie, you know you did a good job! Even though it’s an old series, Guinea Pig is still considered to be one of the sickest and most gory piece of cinematography ever made.

3. Grotesque (Gurotesuku) (2009)

Director: Koji Shiraishi
Writer: Koji Shiraishi
Cast: Tsugumi Nagasawa, Hiroaki Kawatsure, Shiegeo Osako

Grotesque has been banned in many countries for being the “cruelest Japanese splatter movie ever”. This alone should make you curious enough to watch it!

2. Saw franchise (2004 – 2010)

Director: James Wan
Writer: Leigh Whannell, James Wan
Cast: Cary Elwes, Leigh Whannell, Danny Glover

You like it or not, the Saw franchise rules in the torture porn sector. The first movie was so refreshing and original that it was a mother of many films that followed the blood thirst. Every movie has unique deaths with convincing special effects and I watch Saw movies only for the killings (mwahaha). The soundtrack is also worth mentioning, it’s just brill!

DRUMROLLS

1. A Serbian Film (Srpski Film) (2010)

Director: Srdjan Spasojevic
Writer: Aleksandar Radivojevic, Srdjan Spasojevic
Cast: Srdjan Todorovic, Sergiej Trifunovic, Jelena Gavrilovic

If you haven’t heard of “torture porn” term before you would probably assume that the movie consists of porn and torture scenes (unlike Saw movies – just pure beauty of effective on-screen deaths) and it’s just a disturbing invention of bored and sick psychos.
A Serbian Film is just that. The ultimate gorn that will leave your mind fucked for the rest of your life.

there is one pregnant women scene in “A Serbian Film” movie, which will be remembered for the rest of your life, no matter how much you try to forget, You will not not, I am still trying to forget that scene and it comes back sometimes, Even I am afraid to write here what happened in that scene really scary one, rest all are no torture porn like i have seen hostel, martyrs, i spit on your grave, are no porn but its violence.

But Serbian film is Truly Truly Torture porn. If you dont want your mind fucked for rest of life or atleast for a decade Do not watch it, if you enjoy being mind tortured watch it.

    • UltraViolent

I’m assuming you mean the baby scene? That baby was so fake I was looking for the “made in china” stamp! Very bold and horrific movie none the less and that scene is pretty awful in context.

wether the baby was fake or not n i really hope it was it was the screams n the fact that newborn porn does happen…… serbian film fked my mind up fe real

        • Bust

I assure you that if there is a zero percent chance it is real. Most any government, American included, would have it banned for (aside from all the murder) child pornography, which is taken very seriously.

Anyway, A Serbian Film was pretty sick, but it definitely didn’t what I would consider the “most disturbing”. But in the torture-porn genre, I suppose it does fit the bill quite well. Actually, I sort of want to watch it again now.

Well, you didn’t really expect a real baby to act in this scene

        • UltraViolent

Obviously… i was pointing the FACT that because it was a crappy fake takes away from the realism. And obviously the scene was faked, nothing like that would ever be allowed to be shown, not here, not serbia not anywhere. Taking my comment out of context. Real cool.

Ive not seen a serbian film but if it was a real baby they could use props and screen effects to make sure it wasn’t hurt in anyway which is possible and can be done convincingly, even if a real baby was used to demonstrate fake porn and it was banned everywhere in a film, a few copies would get out and like a tree branch people would download and distribute, banning a film doesn’t stop distribution or people watching it, ban is more like a detterent, stops n00bs, slows the pro’s
